Azar Mirza-Beg bin Mirza bin Isfandiyar al-Kubrawi
al-Bakuwi, Sheikh and Master of the Order, was born in the
blessed month of Rajab 1371 in the town of Baku in the Caucasus.
He, as his father Mirza Mirzabekov, is a Sunni Muslim.
From his youth he was a godly man dedicated to self-discipline.
As a custom he preferred seclusion from men and sat with no
one. Throughout his life in the Soviet Union he received many
spiritual sciences from God as he continuously lived the
life of ascetic.
Hazrat Azar Mirza-Beg is a disciple of al-Khidr, who for Sufis
is the patron of Saints (awliya). In this way he passed an
initiation of a direct nature not connected to any order.
Much later in his life he had another visit by al-Khidr.
The latter desired it from him to join the Kubrawi Order
as he personally initiated him to it.
